NABUGASHA FLORENCE

Florence lives with the maternal grandmother who is a peasant. The father’s whereabouts are unknown. The mother has four children and Florence is the fourth. Florence takes her grandmother as the mother because she started living with her when she was a toddler as the mother moved to look for casual work to raise her children. Although she occasionally gives a helping hand, she is over whelmed by the burden of caring for all her children single handedly with no clear source of income. At home, Florence helps her grandmother to collect water, dry beans, cook, and sweep in and around the house as well as garden work.Florence is in Primary Seven and she hopes to become a doctor. Her best subjects are science, English and social studies.During her free time, she plays dodge ball with her friends.

At Berakhah Child Care, she participates in Bible storytelling and dancing. She can now afford a smile because of the love and care with the new family.
